Dealing with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) can be difficult enough under normal circumstances. It is even more intimidating when you owe several thousand dollars (or more) in unpaid taxes and penalties that you cannot afford to pay. Since most taxpayers do not have the appropriate knowledge to negotiate a reasonable repayment plan, they end up giving into the pressure to pay more than they can afford. Others realize they are in over their heads and hire an enrolled agent to represent them before the IRS. While it may be better than doing it alone, working with an enrolled agent is often the best option.

Instead of contacting the IRS on your own behalf and facing this alone, take advantage of my over fifty years’ experience. Let an enrolled agent work toward an agreement that satisfies the government and allows you to get on with your life, debt-free. An enrolled agent is someone who has specialized training and passed the required exams to represent the interests of individual and business taxpayers to the IRS. We know how to negotiate with the IRS to reach a settlement or debt repayment solution that they are most likely to accept.

When approaching the IRS to resolve your tax debt issue by having hired enrolled agent represent you, the IRS views you as someone who took the initiative to resolve your outstanding debt instead of avoiding it and not forcing them into aggressive collection efforts. Since this saves the IRS time and money, they are likely to be more willing to negotiate your repayment terms and abate some or all of your penalties.

Most people I work with did not get into a tough spot with the IRS on purpose. Perhaps you were self-employed and did not understand how much you needed to remit for payroll taxes or quarterly estimates. You may have had a medical emergency that forced you to have as little as possible deducted from your paycheck, just to make ends meet. Whatever your situation, I am here to help, not to judge. Please contact me for a free case evaluation to see what a difference it can make to have a tax resolution service and an enrolled agent on your side.

WHAT CAN THE IRS DO IF YOU OWE TAXES?

If you do not pay the federal income taxes of the person who passed away or the federal taxes of their estate in full, or if you don’t file your tax returns, you will receive a bill for the amount owed. This bill starts the collection process, which continues until the account is satisfied or until the IRS may no longer legally collect the tax. The unpaid balance will include any penalties and interest on the unpaid balance from the date the tax is due and continue until the tax is paid.

If the tax balance is not paid, the IRS will do the following:

FILE A NOTICE OF FEDERAL TAX LIEN

A formal notice to you that the IRS intends to file a notice of levy against you in court. You would get this notice if you have not tried to resolve your tax balance. The IRS must send you a notice the first time for each tax and period it intends to collect by taking your property.

FILE A NOTICE OF LEVY

The IRS can:

Garnish your wages, take your property (cars, real estate, personal property), funds in bank accounts, Social Security benefits, other retirement benefits—the IRS can take almost anything you own.

WHAT CAN BE DONE TO RESOLVE YOUR TAX BALANCE?

You can work with me, a tax resolution professional, to get a favorable resolution or settlement. Here are some of the benefits you will receive:

I can review the tax return(s) that are giving you a problem and amend them or prepare them if they have not been filed.

I will talk to the IRS on your behalf. I know who to talk to at the IRS. I review all the various IRS programs to determine which one is best for you. I can negotiate with the IRS to accept the best plan for you.

The result will be to make your life more enjoyable by getting the IRS or state government tax problem resolved and give you a happier life.

As part of my tax resolution procedures, I will analyze your financial situation and find which tax settlement method would work best for your tax situation. There are many different forms of settlement that can be made with the Internal Revenue Service and the State and local taxing authorities.

PENALITY AND INTEREST ABATEMENT

Penalties can be removed that are owed for late payment and filing. They can be forgiven with the appropriate filings and showing proof.

PAYMENT PLAN NEGOTIATION AND SETUP

I can find out what payment method works best for you and work out an affordable payment plan to pay back the taxes owed.

OFFER IN COMPROMISE

This method can settle taxes owed for far less than you may owe.

HARDSHIP AND UNCOLLECTABLE

If you cannot pay your taxes owed, it is possible to temporarily stop collection action of the IRS by having them declared uncollectible for a period of time until your financial situation improves enough that you can make an arrangement to pay them.

REMOVE TAX LEVY

If the IRS has begun to seize assets from you, either through your bank account, wage garnishment, or physical seizure of your assets, I can halt it with an appropriate tax settlement method.

FILE BACK TAX RETURNS

If you have outstanding returns that have not been filed for any amount of time, I can prepare these returns.

AUDIT REPRESENTATION

If you received a notice of audit, I could represent you in your audit and make sure everything presented to the IRS is correct.
